Winterborne Zelston, Dorest DT11 9ET

A temporary Greyhound track was known to have been laid in the village of Winterbourne Zelston, a village located 10 miles northwest of Poole in Dorset.

The venue was located at the rear of the General Allenby public house which lay adjacent to the A31 Winterbourne-Bere Regis road. It was during 1982 that greyhounds raced over a 300-yard straight course, with a ball type hare system acting as the lure.

Further details regarding its exact location and its timescale remain unavailable at this present time. Today the General Allenby Public House still exists but it is now known as The Botany Bay Inne.
