Tattershall Road, Boston, Lincolnshire, PE21

It seems that the large Lincolnshire spa town of Boston has played its part in history, with its sporting venues linked by amateur football and Greyhound Racing.

The more recognised one was at the York Street Ground of Boston United, yet another venue is known to have hosted the sport at the lesser-known Boston Town’s ground on Tattershall Road.

The Tattershall Road ground began life in 1963, having been developed from nothing more than a farmer’s field and by the end of the 1960’s was a totally enclosed football ground. It was during the latter end of the 1960’s that Greyhound Racing took place on a 350 yards course, again with the ball hare type used as the lure.

Other information remains unavailable at the moment, although the venue still survives today. The small stadium is found roughly one mile northwest of Boston Town centre on land adjacent to Witham Way Country Park.

Two Greyhound Owner adverts the top dated May 1966 the lower April 1969.
