Quebec Road, Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire, LN12

Another of the Lincolnshire seaside resorts to host greyhound racing was Mablethorpe. Mablethorpe lies between Skegness and Cleethorpes who both incidentally become host to permanent tracks.

This temporary venue was known as Golden Sands and was situated adjacent to Quebec Road, a road that ran along the seafront just north of the town. Gatherings took place during the summer seasons of the 1960’s.

Adverts suggests events were staged over a 250-yard straight course, with a Ball Hare trackless system acting as the lure. Little else is known regarding its exact location, or how it operated and how long it lasted for.
