The Cheltenham Horse Race Festival is one of the UK’s busiest meeting of the year, attracting the top runners and riders with the temptation of impressive prizemoney that the sport can offer.

It is known that greyhound racing has played a part in the entertainment at the festival, for at least two seasons since the Millennium. It last appeared during March 2005, with a handful of races being staged over a 220-yard straight course, with a programme showing that all races consisted of six greyhounds.
