Kelham Road, Newark, Nottinghamshire

The Nottinghamshire town of Newark also adds itself to the list of temporary greyhound tracks, but again this venture was only short lived.

Evidence proves that Greyhound Racing took place during 1966 and 1967, on a straight track just off Kelham Road, near to the towns Cattle Market.

The hounds were spot graded and would contest behind a ball hare type lure. It seemed events took place during gala day gatherings, as Whippet and Pony racing also took place as well.

This advert was printed in The Greyhound Owner newspaper of July 1967.
