Hykeham Road, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN6

It seems that the city and the surrounds of Lincoln has seen more Greyhound Racing than any other areas across the UK regarding temporary tracks.

This chapter describes the one known as the Highfield Track, which was situated possibly near Highland Terrace along Hykeham Road, about two to three miles southwest of Lincoln city centre.

Again, information regarding operations remains scarce but it is known that the Lincolnshire Greyhound Racing Association opened the track for business on the 13th of September 1931 and is known that racing also featured during 1932.

The GO advertises Greyhound Racing at Hykeham Road on August 23rd 1962. Could this have been the same venue as the one described during early 1930’s.
