Spencer Sports Ground, Middleton Road, Banbury, Oxfordshire OX16 4RE

Although Oxfordshire may not have been blessed with greyhound racing venues, yet it is this paragraph that describes another temporary track which can be added to that list.

It was known as The Middleton Road Greyhound Track situated roughly a mile northwest of Banbury town centre. Events took place on the popular Spencer Sports Ground, although popular with locals during these times it does not show up on old maps and therefore its exact location remains unknown.

Gatherings took place during the summer months of 1933 and 1934, with midweek evening events and with a double gathering on Sundays. Little else is known on how it operated, with distances and lure type still to be determined.
