An advert found in the Shepton Mallet Journal of May 26 1950, advertises greyhound racing at Fair Field in the Somerset town of Glastonbury. It has yet to be proved but it is thought Fairfield lies half a mile west of the town, and during the post war years an athletics field lay at the side of the A361 Street Road, a site pinpointed by the town’s cricket ground of today. It is presumed that it was in this viscinty that the events took place.
