Walpole Park, Ealing, London
Another brief encounter of greyhound racing in the capital was found in the Borough of Ealing, an area located roughly eight miles west of London city centre.
Events took place during July 1931 at a venue known as Walpole Park, a large public open space with its main entrance located along Mattock Lane. Newspaper cuttings suggests that six races were staged over a 300-yard straight course, with the lure dragged by a cord attached to the wheel of a motor.
It is not known whether the sport made any other appearances at the venue other than this gathering. Walpole Park still exists today situated half a mile southwest of Ealing Broadway Underground Station.
