NOAK HILL near Romford

The Greyhound Owner newspaper advertises Greyhound Racing at a venue known as Old Crown Farm. Old Crown Farm is located between the parishes of Navestock and Noak Hill, roughly four miles northeast of Romford in Essex.

Various adverts had been placed in the Greyhound Owner newspaper between 1961 and July 1969 at a location known as Palmers Mead Field.

Although the adverts offer a straight course, old maps show a complete circuit during 1960′ and 1970’s. Presently, Google Earth shows the site acting as grazing lying adjacent to a golf course.

Today, Old Crown Farm acts as a Kennels and Equestrian centre, and is situated along Church Road, less than a mile northwest of Noak Hill.

This Greyhound Owner is dated May 4th 1961.
