The early 1980’s had seen Greyhound Racing being staged at Castle Combe, a village located five miles north west of Chippenham in Wiltshire. It is known that a 250 to 300 yard straight course lay in a meadow along side the B4039, opposite Castle Combe Motor Racing Circuit. The hounds were spot graded and would contest behind a ball hare type lure.

Two adverts printed in The Greyhound Owner newspaper, the above dated May 1981, the one below May 1985.
