Jaywick, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15

It is known that a temporary greyhound track was laid in the vicinity of Jaywick in Essex. The village of Jaywick lies two miles west of Clacton-on-Sea, with a cutting from a Greyhound Owner newspaper suggesting that greyhound racing was ready to take place during 1950.

It is presumed that the events went ahead, but no further information regarding its exact location or how it operated is yet available.

This July 1950 edition of The Greyhound Owner suggests that racing would take pace soon at Jawick.
