# As tracks signed up to either the SIS or BAGS televised betting shop operation, the number of evening greyhound meetings declined year by year
# It became the norm to have no non-televised evening meetings on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursdays
# Prior to Covid, there was usually two Friday and nine Saturday evening meetings which were promoted on a “stand alone” basis
# Covid restrictions with “behind closed doors” racing resulted in the cancellation of those Friday and Saturday meetings and they still have not returned as at October 2022. Indeed, Suffolk Downs, Kinsley and Pelaw Grange currently do not race on an evening
# Following the first set lockdown Covid measures (mid-March 2020) three tracks closed permanently – Peterborough, Poole and Belle Vue – and Shawfield also shut, ultimately never to re-open.
