A temporary Greyhound track was known to have been laid in the village of Winterbourne Zelston, a village located 10 miles north west of Poole in Dorset. The venue was located at the rear of the General Allennby public house which lay adjacent to the A31 Winterbourne-Bere Regis road. It was during 1982 that greyhounds raced over a 300 yard straight course, with a ball type hare system acting as the lure. Further details regarding its exact location and its timescale remain unavailable at this present time. Today the General Allenby Public House still exists but it is now known as The Botany Bay Inne.
