It is known that Greyhound and also Whippet Racing took place at the Agricultural Society, at Stanhope, near Bishop Auckland in County Durham.
Information offers that the sport took place during September 1978, with five dogs contesting over a 280-yard straight course. An advert shows that spot grading was used to grade the dogs, but no other information is presently at hand.
