Riding Club Feld, near Band Hall, Hetton-le-Hole, Sunderland, County Durham DH5

The small town of Hetton-le-Hole lies roughly nine miles southwest of Sunderland in County Durham. It is in this town that dog racing took place during the Summer of 1969.

It was on a straight course that was laid out over 300 and 350 yards on the Riding Club Field situated on grazing land at the rear of The Silver Band Hall which still lies on South Market street half a mile east of the town centre.

The hounds chased a ball hare type lure, yet no other information is available on how else it was run. Today the meadows are still there and are still the home of the riding club.
