Fambridge Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9

There is clear evidence that greyhound racing took place at a venue called Sealey Farm on Fambridge Road situated just outside the Essex town of Maldon.

It was during August 1932 that an oval track was laid out ready to stage racing for the first time on the 3rd of September 1932. The venue lasted for just a handful of meetings before the promoters abandoned the idea.

It has yet to be determined were exactly the track’s location lay, as it seems Sealey Farm no longer exists, with Fambridge Road remains situated just southwest of the town centre.

This press cutting is dated September 9th 1932.
